Academic Calendar
CII operates on a semester system consisting of four semesters
per year: Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall.
Semester Credit System
CII's academic programs operate on a three-month semester system
(four semesters per academic year). Course credit is assigned according
to the number of in-class contact hours associated with the course.
On-campus courses earn one semester credit for each 15 hours of
in-class time. Generally, 30-45 hours of assigned homework is also
associated with each semester credit. Lecture and computer laboratory
courses earn credit at the same rate.
Courses completed through distance education methods earn the same
number of credits as the related on-campus courses.
Drop/Add Dates
Students may withdraw (drop) from an on-campus class or enroll
in (add) additional classes any time within the first two weeks
of the semester. Students will receive full refunds for the cost
of courses dropped during the drop/add period. Distance Education
students may request to drop a course within two months of receiving
the course materials. All course materials must be returned to Preston
for any courses dropped by the student.
Course Enrollment Dates
Students approved for admission may enroll in on-campus courses
any time prior to and including the first two weeks of class for
each semester. Distance Education programs may be started any time.
Graduation Dates
Formal graduation ceremonies are held on the third Saturday in
May each year. Graduates from the On-Campus program, the Distance
Learning program and from all CII affiliated campuses are invited
to attend.
